Born on August 19, 1987, Niko Hulkenberg would become a very prominent German professional professional racing driver. Hulkenberg developed a passion for racing at a very early age. In 1997, at the age of just ten, he began his career karting. By 2002, Hulkenberg became German Junior Karting Champion and in 2003, he tasted victory in the German Kart Championship. Some interesting personal details about the driver include the fact that he enjoys tennis and eating sushi. His favorite move is Pirates of the Caribbean and his favorite television show is 24.
Hulkenberg began his F1 career in 2010 with the Williams team and enjoyed immediate success. He won the GP2 championship in his debut and is only one of three players to accomplish this. The other two were Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg. However, despite his success and highly impressive rookie year with a pole position in Brazil, Hulkenberg had to accept a Reserve India driver role at Force India in 2011.
Hulkenberg is ready to prove himself in 2012 and use his experience from 2011 to achieve real success. For 2012, he has been promoted to a race seat with the team along with Paula di Resta. Despite his demotion, Hulkenberg has kept very sharp by completing 14 free practice sessions where his lap times have matched or been better than race drivers. Hulkenberg claims that he is not contently to simply establish himself in the F1 for a single year, but wants to be a strong force for many years to come. He is confident he can reassert himself and establish rhythm and consistency in a few weeks, but does not underestimate the challenge posed by di Resta.
