Vitaly Petrov replaces Trulli for Caterham seat 2012

Posted at 18th February, 2012 by F1admin

Jarno Trulli, the Italian F1 driver, is replaced by Russian Vitaly Petrov for a seat on team Caterham in 2012.

Jarno Trulli was very humble in accepting his demotion at team Caterham as the team has switched to Petrov in what some are saying is more related to sponsorship money than it is about driver quality. Trulli brings with him a strong fan base worldwide and in Italy but Vitaly Petrov brings in far more potential in terms of excitement to their team and of course money talks the most.

It is unknown what sponsorship influence will happen with the arrival of Petrov but it gives a big opportunity for Caterham to pull in some russian oil money like Gazprom for example.

More details to come soon.
